Andrea Levy for Oakland Council
Meet Andrea

Andrea believes in cultivating a community rich in collaboration, cooperation, and respect. She is actively involved and volunteers in various town clubs and committees and currently is a member of the Oakland Planning Board, Oakland Communications Commission, and the Downtown Revitalization Committee. She is actively involved with Oakland’s Sustainable Green Team, supporting and/or sponsoring various town projects for the betterment of Oakland, including the Styrofoam collection events and the "Bag up Oakland" contest, family friendly Green Film Festival Outdoor Movies in the Park and leading the Arts in Oakland Committee, supporting new projects including Poetry Contests, Open Mic Nights, Digital Zines, (3) Arts in Oakland Music and Art festivals and, after 3 attempts foiled by bad weather, finally kicking off the Grand Opening of the Arts Pavilion at Great Oak Park with an awesome day of music and vendors. Then to top that off, launching a brand new weekly Outdoor Market featuring unique and handmade goods and foods open through November! What's also important is that the Arts projects incur No-Taxpayer expense and are funded by donations and collaborative efforts!

Andrea is passionate about Oakland and finding the improvements needed to put the shine back on this wonderful gem of a town, while keeping it that small-town community feel, with great schools, abundant recreation and children’s activities, and the incomparable natural beauty that initially attracted she and husband Jim to settle down and raise their two boys Matthew IHHS ’16 and Daniel IHHS ’21, nearly 20 years ago.
While not much has changed the last 20 years in Oakland, the problem is…Not much has changed in Oakland the last 20 years….It’s time for Oakland to Re-Brand, Revitalize & Beautify!

As a local Broker REALTOR©, recently associating with Keller Williams Prosperity, serving our local area, Andrea fully understands how our town’s image impacts desirability and in turn, our home values. Her 20 plus years’ experience as a licensed real estate agent, previously with Weichert Realtors family of businesses, she’s held various roles including Regional Sales Manager, Strategic Account Executive and Training Facilitator, all with varying responsibilities of managing, marketing, sales, negotiations, communications, guiding, training, and motivating over 150 residential sales offices. The prior 15 years were dedicated to the Entertainment Industry where Andrea garnered valuable business experience as talent agent and manager working with high profile clients and responsible for growing and supporting their careers including image, marketing, and publicity and handling club and event bookings as well.

(PS. Andrea will be happy to reminisce with anyone who’ll listen)

From the very beginning Andrea has enjoyed being a part of Oakland, first joining the Oakland Newcomers and Neighbors, whose warm welcome made her feel right at home and certain she’d made the right choice to raise her young family and later, serving on various leadership roles including publicity and social chairperson and while she’s no longer considered new, she is still a “neighbor” member today! She was an active member of the Oakland PTO's throughout her children's school enrollment and, has served as VMS PTO President, when no one else would step up to fill the role. Andrea was heavily involved supporting the Ramapo Indian Hills School District's largest scholarship fundraiser, FLOW Follies. A unique collaboration where parents and the community from Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Wyckoff produce an original performance to raise funds for graduating high school seniors. Over $800,000 since inception! A many faceted role for Andrea, having fast evolved from a bit part on stage to handling publicity, advertising sales, graphic arts, writing, social media and ultimately managing the production of 50-75 volunteers, as its former Executive Producer. While she's "retired" from FLOW Follies, she's added a few additional volunteer roles including Oakland's Mothers Club, Lasagna Love Baker/Donor and Chamber of Commerce Green Business Director.

Andrea’s dedication to helping others improve and reach their goals has been a consistent theme throughout her career and volunteer efforts. Known for her problem-solving skills and optimism, she leverages her creativity, broad experience, and relentless determination to uphold her belief that ANYTHING CAN BE IMPROVED, and SUCCESS IS NOT AN 'IF,' BUT A 'WHEN.' After running three times for Oakland Council, she is undeterred and her tenacity undeniable, as she prepares for her fourth campaign, that will prove that the FOURTH TIME'S THE CHARM!
